More than a Spanish school, Stay & Spanish is a place where learning goes beyond the classroom. We combine personalized Spanish lessons, comfortable accommodation and authentic experiences to help you connect with the language, the local culture and the natural beauty of Minca. Our small groups and personal approach create an environment where every guest feels welcomed, supported and at home.
Our Story
Stay & Spanish was inspired by my own experience of learning Spanish in small language schools in Panama and Mexico. Those stays became some of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I didn't just learn the language—I built lifelong friendships, discovered new cultures and gained the confidence to travel through Spanish-speaking countries.
When I discovered Minca, I knew it was the perfect place to create something similar for others. Its incredible nature, welcoming community and endless opportunities for adventure make it a place where learning Spanish becomes much more than a course.
That's why we keep our groups intentionally small. We believe personal attention, genuine connections and real cultural experiences help our guests learn faster, feel at home and create memories that last a lifetime.
Our goal is simple: we want every guest to leave Minca with better Spanish, unforgettable memories and the desire to return.
Our Philosophy
We are not the biggest Spanish school in Colombia—and we don't want to be.

Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Anja, originally from Switzerland and the founder of Stay & Spanish.
My passion for languages, travel and meaningful cultural experiences inspired me to create a place where others can experience the same journey that changed my life. After learning Spanish in small language schools in Panama and Mexico, I discovered how much more language learning could be than grammar and vocabulary—it became a way to connect with people, cultures and new places.
When I found Minca, I knew it was the perfect place to bring that vision to life. Today, my goal is to create a welcoming environment where every guest feels at home, gains confidence in Spanish and leaves with unforgettable memories of Colombia.

Yamiles – Spanish Teacher
Hi, I'm Yamiles, and teaching Spanish is my greatest passion. I love meeting people from around the world and helping them learn Spanish in a fun, natural and engaging way while discovering Colombian culture.
My classes are interactive, relaxed and focused on real communication. Through conversation, games, music and cultural activities, I help students feel comfortable speaking Spanish and enjoy every step of their learning journey.
For me, teaching is about more than language — it is about creating meaningful connections and making every student feel welcome.

Anthony – Guest Experience & Minca Explorer
Anthony is one of the people who keeps Stay & Spanish running smoothly. He takes care of our houses and gardens, helps organize activities and loves sharing his favorite places around Minca with our guests.
Having lived in Minca for more than 8 years, Anthony knows the area, the hidden spots and many of the people who make this village so special. He enjoys showing guests the real Minca and helping them discover places they might not find on their own.
For Anthony, the best moments are often found outdoors — exploring nature, sharing adventures and jumping from the rocks into the refreshing mountain waters of Minca.
